FAQs
New-member candidates start by meeting a few members. This often happens by taking our learn-to-row class, participating as guest rower, participating as a guest in some of our club sailboat races, and/or attending a social event as a member’s guest. If you want help meeting new people, contact either the rowing captain, sailing captain, or the entertainment chair.
Two regularly scheduled membership meetings are held each year – one in the spring and one in the fall. The Secretary can also call for a membership meeting if the majority of the Board of Governors or fifteen members request one. The Secretary must issue a notice to the members within seven days of the meeting. This usually happens two weeks before a meeting.
The meetings allow members to vote on issues and candidates for offices. Each family gets a vote.
